Oncology Services at SRH Cancer... The very word spreads fear into the hearts of many, and there are few people that this deadly disease has not touched either directly or through a family member or friend. The SRH Oncology and Hematology Clinic takes on this dreaded disease every day, helping area residents fight cancer with compassionate care and all the latest technology. Our main goal is to offer comprehensive oncology/hematology outpatient care in our service area (made up of an eight-county region) and to provide nursing support from SRH and other support from the Oncology Clinic at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. We provide screenings, diagnosis and treatments to both adults and children. We also specialize in hematological (blood) disorders. When a patient comes in (either by a physician's referral or self referral), an assessment such as taking vital signs is done. Then, depending on the patient's diagnosis, the clinic is equipped to give chemotherapy right here in our office as well as blood transfusions and outpatient injections. The patients are also educated about chemotherapy and other useful material they will need as they fight this disease. Breast Cancer Sumter Regional Hospital is a leader in the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. In our facility we have a highly trained and dedicated staff and the latest equipment for screening, diagnosing, and treating this disease.
