Currently, Sumter Regional Hospital is a 143-bed acute care facility with more than 50 active medical staff members representing more than 25 specialties. SRH has served the Middle Flint region since 1953 and is constantly upgrading its services, facilities and equipment. In March of 1999, SRH completed an expansion project that added over 95,000 square feet of space, including state-of-the-art outpatient surgical suites and over 25,000 square feet of new medical offices.
Sumter Regional Hospital is proud to be the first hospital in the state to offer the LDRP (Labor-Delivery-Recovery-Postpartum) concept. In addition, SRH also offers a variety of other services, including 24-hour ambulance and emergency room facilities, a rural health clinic, an in-patient rehabilitation unit, pediatrics, lithotripsy, magnetic resonance imaging, same-day surgery, laparoscopic surgery, oncology services and a vascular laboratory.
